Re: MCU -07-004 Freedom Storage Center CUP Modification
This letter is in response to the Staff Report for the Freedom Storage Center CUP Modification received
July 13, 2007.
Planning Department Comments:
1.5 A minimum 2 -park bicycle rack will be provided near the main building entrance.
1.7 An access gate is being proposed at the Northwest corner of the site off of Overland for Idaho
Power to access their 75' easement along the west property line. See sheet a1.11.
1.8 The trash enclosure is located at the Northwest corner of the site on the Landscape Plan as well
as sheet al. 11.
Public Works Department Comments:
2.1 We are currently in discussions with Public Works on the best option for connecting to the Black
Cat Trunk for sewer service.
Fire Department Comments:
3.3 An approved turnaround was discussed with Joe Silva of the Meridian Fire Department and has
been incorporated into the site plan at the west parking lot. The turnaround encroaches into the
required landscape buffer to the west so we are proposing the use of a grass cellular concrete
product in that area. It is our understanding from staff that this has been an approved method for
this type of application in the past.
Police Department Comments:
4.1 The security issues for the courtyard have been discussed with Lt. John Overton of the Meridian
Police Dept. and surveillance cameras will be installed in this area per his recommendation.
