Dear Mayor and Meridian City Council I am a resident of northwest Meridian, and I would like to share concerns regarding the continued growth and density of Brighton developments in the Chinden and Black Cat corridor. The current pace and scale of building in this area raises serious concerns about infrastructure, safety, and quality of life. Traffic is already a significant issue. Roads like Black Cat and Chinden are frequently congested, and adding higher-density developments will increase traffic beyond what these roads can reasonably support. This will lead to more accidents, longer commute times, and increased strain on smaller connector roads that were never designed for this level of use. I am also very concerned about access for first responders. With limited entry and exit points, increased traffic will make it more difficult for emergency services to respond quickly and safely. This is not just an inconvenience—it is a safety issue. In addition, the cumulative impact of this level of development will increase air pollution, noise, and light pollution, all of which directly affect the day-to-day quality of life for residents in this area. I respectfully ask that the City take a more measured approach and require meaningful mitigation, including:  Infrastructure improvements in place before further build-out  Improved access points for safety and emergency response  Thoughtful density transitions to protect existing neighborhoods I also urge you remain aligned and advocate for your current constituency, the resident's of Meridian who are relying on our schools, parks, roads and infrastructure. The voices of this established community should be carefully considered and reflected in your decisions. Thank you for your consideration Irene Hoffmann 6742 N. Adale Way Meridian, Idaho 1
