Good evening, my name is David Bear, and I live at 5347 N Brass Coin Wy, Meridian, ID 83646.
I want to comment on H-2025-0057, the Fields proposed projects.
For more than 3 decades, my wife and I lived in Boise - watching it grow and grow. Finally, when a small
vacant field directly behind our home was slated for 3 story apartments, we knew we needed to move.
We chose Meridian, in part, because we wanted out of Boise proper (and the ridiculous development
that did not take into consideration traffic, or quality of life).
Fast forward just a few years, and here we are living near McMillan and McDermott. We love our new
home, but are dismayed that yet another development project is being considered that seemingly has
zero significant concern for traffic, infrastructure, or the quality of life for current residents!
Have you ever driven on McMillan? At most hours of the day, McMillan and intersecting roads are very
congested, taking multiple cycles to get through each and every traffic light! The roads in this area are
woefully insufficient as it is, and the H-2025-0057 project will make things SIGNIFICANTLY worse!
I think most residents are not necessarily against the development itself, but the infrastructure and roads
MUST be addressed first!!!
With even an ounce of empathy (please!), you have to recognize that the order of events must be to
widen the surrounding roads (to at least 4 lanes, and dedicated turn lanes at each light), then start
construction of the homes and all the rest.
Representing the homeowners seems like it should be a higher priority than accommodating the
developers, right? These developments should have a large financial responsibility to (the completed)
upgrades to the infrastructure and roads PRIOR TO any construction of buildings even being
considered! Please pump the brakes on this project, and don't sell us down the road with yet
another development, that makes things worse!
