APPROVAL OF AGENDA: March 25, 2026, agenda approved.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: February 25, 2026, meeting minutes approved.
OLD BUSINESS: Commissioner Cory spoke about the booth that SWAC hosts during the Public Works Expo and gave a “save the date” announcement for the upcoming Expo on June 4 from 4:00-7:00 PM. Commissioner Cory spoke about the Recycle a Bicycle event taking place on May 16 from 10:00AM to 2:00PM. Rachele Klein from Republic Services asked for interested volunteers to come to the event as Commissioner Nelson and Scott Walters would be unable to attend. Commissioner Nelson will be taking inventory and sending a list of items needed to City staff for purchase. Commissioner Nelson also addressed that requests for all ages are available and that uncommitted bikes will be available at the day of the event. Signage for the event was also discussed. City staff confirmed that they would coordinate outreach efforts. Rachele Klein also mentioned that the Parks Department was looking for a new helmet vendor, but that Republic Services would have helmets to give away.
STAKEHOLDER UPDATES: Commissioner Cory reminded the Commission of their invites to the Volunteer Appreciation Lunch on April 16th at 11:30. Commissioners can RSVP to staff.

Commissioner Cory reported that he gave the Commission’s annual report to City Council and passed on their thanks for the work done by the Commission. Commissioner Cory notified that the Art Week event would be on August 29th and that he would be working with the sub-committee on additional details. Commissioner Baber asked Rachele Klein about a recent trash truck fire. Rachele spoke to the incident and that it wasn’t battery-caused but mentioned that battery fires continue to be the greatest source of truck fires. Commissioner Rabin commented on using the household hazardous waste drop-off site for lithium-ion batteries. Commissioner Cory commented on an article in the Statesman that reviewed acceptable waste and recycling material in Boise. He asked Rachele to let the Commission know if there are any differences from Boise and Meridian that they should be aware of.
