We are tired of dealing with this every 1-2 years putting us in limbo. We can’t move, because we can’t get an interest rate remotely close to what we have and our residential values have diminished relative to the market immensely and we can’t in good conscious invest in making our homes look and feel nicer because we could find a solution today or tomorrow. Viewing this project through that lens, and that lens only, we support this project going through in the hopes it expedites the future development of this area. That being said, as homeowners that actually live on this street and is not renting it out for the past 13 years, the idea of putting this project in with only one access point, no light access, no sidewalks or lights and people walking and screaming up and down a 1,000 foot road, it would be highly irresponsible to do this without a solution to the problem(s). There will be a concert house down the street that will inevitably use this street as parking, a large part of the current traffic comes just from delivery drivers accessing the apartments through the closed off cul-de-sac. This road serves currently as a “green belt” for Silverstone apartments, and now, you will have the proposed project doing the same, while inevitably clogging the streets with parking regardless of what number of parking spots are proposed. This is not “thoughtful integration” in the slightest. There is more impact than the perimeter of the proposed project in order to make this successful. The future planned road/light to Movado needs to be treated as if though it won’t happen so that the City with ACHD can work together to find a solution. There’s no indication the two separate property owners required to make that work would do that and why on Earth would they want to lose that chunk of land for a road? For the sake of everyone’s sanity can the City please clearly define what will be required, should this project be denied, so we can prevent wasting everyone’s time with future proposals should they not meet those requirements. And if this project is successful, can we clearly define what would be required for future projects on this road, because once everyone can see the chaos, we don’t want to be subjected to the same response we’ve been given along the way which is “Well we should have done that differently, oops” and then all future development is shut down. Thank you, Mike and Mackenzie
