I am writing to express my full support for the Rolling Hill project. Of the many proposals we have seen over the years, this is the most impressive. The integration of commercial and residential space is very appealing, and the developers have been exceptionally informative, valuing our input as neighbors regarding the project's size and height. So we are in support of this project being proposed. However, I would like to address concerns regarding how the City of Meridian and ACHD have handled the traffic situation. That's obviously the elephant in the room with all these projects being proposed. From all the meetings we have been to, we've come to the conclusion it's all about who you know or how much money you have. cause those projects get approved with zero thought or impact on future roads/developments. The current plan for the traffic light location is illogical. It should be situated at the end of Rolling Hill Drive, which is the midpoint between Cloverdale and Eagle Road. This should have been addressed before the Movado subdivision and Eagle View Landing was finalized. Five years ago, it was stated by the city that before apartments or five-story buildings were constructed, all properties on Rolling Hill must be removed so the road could serve as a collector. This has not occurred, yet a concert venue is now moving forward. The Aren apartments are above 96% full and there is hardly any vacant space in the commercial buildings. The other issue is with the new location of the traffic light that the city and achd have proposed. The control over the required collector road currently rests with a single individual, Cory Barton, who owns the proposed land. Despite multiple attempts by Assemble and other developers to reach him, he has not responded. If these projects are not approved, the neighbors will be forced to deal with these ongoing issues indefinitely. There's multiple developers that have reached out to the city about developments on rolling hills .Both of the other developers involved have viable plans to manage this traffic situation effectively, and I urge the City to consider these factors.
