Good afternoon Doug Zamzow,
I thought an email back to you would not only contact you but also address the issue with our planners at the
same time. .:
Thank you for meeting with me to discuss the comments that the police department made about your future
development on Overland road. I appreciate your willingness to listen to our concerns and ours to yours.
Thank you for the follow up phone call today detailing the additional security cameras that you are looking at
installing to deal with the north side of your building that will not be visible from either Overland or Jade for
approaching or random patrolling police vehicles. Whereas these improvements will help after a crime or other
problem has taken place, they do not help an officer responding to that location.
As we discussed, it is our hope to help reduce the crime opportunity presented in the design of your building, not
to stop it from being built. If you have no other options due to environmental factors concerning the layout of the
parcel, then it just needs to be agreed upon that there is a concern that can't be resolved regarding the visibility of
the north side (front) of your building from either of the major roads that officers would be traveling on or
responding from. It is only my intention at this point to make it known to you that this concern exists. The addition
of the security cameras will help in the future from a post event perspective.
