1. Original bid proposals from twelve (12) submitting contractors.
2. Proposal Summary Recording Sheet.
3. Draft Notice of Award.
4. Draft Notice to Proceed.
5. Draft Standard Form of Agreement Between Owner and
Contractor, AIA Document AlGI - 1997 with attachments.
6. Reduced plans and building elevations for distribution to
Council Members.
We have examined all twelve (12) proposals for completeness and
compliance with the bidding and contract documents. It appears that all
proposals are responsive and that the apparent low bidder is:

ZGA's 7 July 2000 estimate of probable construction cost for bricks and
mortar (exclusive of soft costs for land, architect/engineer fees, future
traffic signal design/construction, and bidding/construction contingencies)
was $673,076. Our overall project budget included an additional $30,346
for bidding contingency and $30,346 for construction contingency for a
total hard cost budget of$733,768.

Based upon this information we are reconunending that the City of
Meridian award the contract for construction of the referenced project to
KJ Construction, Inc. in the amount of $689,000 and upon completion of
final contract negotiations issue a Notice to Proceed. Draft copies of the
required document are enclosed for your use.
