A special joint meeting of the Meridian City Council with the Meridian Rural Fire
Protection District Commission was called to order at 5:30 P.M., Tuesday, May 14,
2002, by Mayor Robert D. Corrie.
Members Present: Mayor Robert Corrie, Tammy de Weerd, Keith Bird, Cherie
McCandless and William Nary.
Staff: Bill Nichols, Gary Smith, Will Berg, Ken Green, Bill Musser, Bill Johnson and Joe
Silva.
Rural Fire District Commissioners: Steve Elliott, Terry Leighton and Rich Green
Others: Steve Bravo

Corrie: I'm going to open the Joint Meeting Workshop between the Meridian City
Council and the Meridian Rural Fire Protection District Commissioners, Tuesday, May
14, 2002 at 5:30 P.M. At this time, I will turn it over to the District Commissioner to open
their meeting.

Green: This is a special meeting of the combined Meridian City Council and Meridian
Rural Fire Protection Commission commissioners meeting. It's May 14th at 5:30.
Item 2:
Adoption of the Agenda:
Corrie: Let the record show that all three of the Meridian Rural Fire Protection District
commissioners are here. Council, we have adoption of the agenda, which is the
Executive Session. I will entertain a motion to adopt the agenda.
Bird: So moved.
McCandless: Second.
Corrie: Motion made and second. All those in favor say aye. All ayes.

Corrie: I will entertain a motion for Executive Session.
Bird: Mr. Mayor. I move we go into Executive Session as per Idaho State Code 67-
2345(1 )(C).
Nary: Second.
Corrie: Roll Call: Bird, aye; Nary, aye; de Weerd, aye; McCandless, aye.
Green: Members of the Meridian Rural Fire Protection District would like to entertain a
motion to go into Executive Session in accordance with Idaho State Code 67-
2345(1 )(C).
Elliott: So moved.
Leighton: Second.
Green: Moved and second to go into Executive Session. Call for a vote. All those in
favor? All ayes.

Corrie: I would entertain a motion for the City Council to come out of Executive
Session.
De Weerd: So moved.
Bird: Second.
Corrie: All those in favor? All ayes.
MOTION CARRIED
Green: I'll entertain a motion for the Meridian Rural Fire Protection District Commission
to come out of Executive Session.
Elliott: So moved.
Leighton: Second.
Green: All those in favor? All ayes.

Corrie: With that being said, I will entertain a motion for the Council to go out of the
special workshop meeting with the Rural Fire Commissioners of the City of Meridian.
De Weerd: Mr. Mayor?
Corrie: Mrs. De Weerd.
De Weerd: First, I'd like to note that no decisions were made in our Executive Session.
I would move to adjourn.
Bird: Second.
Corrie: Okay. Motion made and second. All those in favor say aye. All ayes.

Green: I would like a motion to adjourn the Special Workshop Session of the Meridian
Rural Fire Protection District and the Meridian City Council. No decisions were made.

Elliott: So moved.
Leighton: Second.
Green: So moved and second to discontinue the meeting. All those in favor? All ayes.

Corrie: Meeting is adjourned at 6:35 p.m.
