Linda,
The City of Meridian has requested feedback regarding an annexation with rezone from R1
(Estate Residential) to R-4 (Medium-Low Density Residential) in order to connect to city
services.
Ada County is supportive of the proposed annexation as it is compatible with Goal 2.2 of the
Ada County Comprehensive Plan, which encourages urban development be directed to Areas
of City Impact where investments in urban services have already been made.
The Future Land Use Map of the Meridian Comprehensive Plan, as adopted by Ada County,
designates the site as Medium Density Residential, which is primarily intended for single-
family homes at densities of three to eight dwelling units per acre. As the site includes a single-
family residence and annexation is due to the necessity to connect to city services it is supported
by the following goal of the Meridian Comprehensive Plan, Goal 2.01.01, which encourages
diverse housing options for various income levels, household sizes, and lifestyle preferences.
Therefore, the application is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan.
