SUBJECT: COMPREHENSIVE PLAN LAND USE MAP AMENDMENT-
LOT 2 JABIL SUBDIVISION
The City of Meridian Planning Department is initiating an amendment to the
land use map of the Comprehensive Plan. The specific amendment is to
change the l~d use designation for the referenced lot loc~~ a 915 E. Central
Drive from fudustrial to Commercial. ..

The subject site is an 18.9 acre lot in a two lot commercial subdivision. It is
located immediately north ofl-84 on the south side ofCeritral Drive. The site
is vacant, although a portion of it is currently used for recreational soccer
fields. Please refer to the attached map, Exhibit 1.

The existing land use des\gnation for the site is Industrial and current zoning is
Limited Industrial (I-L). The site is bordered on two sides by properties which
are zoned General Retail and Service Commercial (CG). The owner of the
adjacent lot in the Jabil subdivision has submitted an application for a similar
land use map amendment as well as a concurrent rezone from I-L to CG.
For all intents and purposes, the subject site. is an island of industrial
designated property in area that is developing with a mix of commercial, retail
and office uses. Amending the land use map designation to Commercial would
provide the basis for consideration of a future rezone application which would
allow a broader range of uses and services for the public as well as create local
employment opportunities.
