Hi Linda and KaraLeigh,
David Morgan provided me with your names as persons at Meridian city and ACHD who are working with the
developer of Shafer View Ridge subdivision. The homeowners of Shafer View Estates subdivision have signed
the attached letters which include our concerns regarding the proposed subdivision adjacent to our
subdivision and would like you to be aware of our concerns. The developer had at one point investigated
closing off Shafer View Drive at Meridian road due to our safety concerns, but it turned out to be too
expensive for him because of the additional safety measures he'd need to put in place for the new connecting
road onto Meridian Road (Hwy 69). Instead, he's proposed using Shafer View Drive as the access point since
ITD would not require the same work to address the safety of the intersection. Today that intersection is
limited to the traffic for 15 homes. Should it be opened through Shafer View Ridge, it would provide access to
those homeowners as well as the hundreds of homes in the already-approved Sky Ridge subdivision. Further
details of this and other concerns are outlined in the attached letters.
