Hello Representative Taylor,
On paper, Cherry Blossom East looks like a simple infill project. But the reality on the ground is very
different — and if this design is approved tomorrow, our neighborhood will be permanently harmed.
Here is the situation as plainly as I can say it:
Any larger vehicle — including trucks, trailers, delivery vans, garbage trucks, construction vehicles, and
fire engines — would have to swing onto our property just to make the turn from NW 4th Street into the
developer’s 20-ft access. There is not enough room to make that turn within the developer’s boundaries.
The problem exists only because the developer built in a way that has already eliminated his own legal
turning space — this is a self-created access issue.
And because the project builds into the same area that has always been used for safe access — the area
service vehicles already use to reach our homes — the design permanently prevents our existing houses
from ever being updated to modern fire-safety standards.
This is not about opposing growth. It is about a basic principle:
A subdivision should not depend on using another family’s land to function.
And a new development should not take away a long-established neighborhood’s ability to remain
safe.

As your constituent, I am asking you not to approve any design that requires trespass or eliminates the
ability of existing homes to meet fire code. The City should require a fully code-compliant access
solution within the developer’s own property boundaries before allowing any new construction to
proceed.
This is not an emotional issue — it is simply about following Idaho law and local code so that emergency
services can reach the homes that are already here, and private property rights are upheld.
