To whom it may concern, It’s recently come to my a?en?on that there will be a discussion at tomorrow night’s City Counsel (planning and zoning) mee?ng regarding the property off of Amity and Hillsdale Ave. specifically, Brighton’s request to rezone the property to fully residen?al. As a resident of the Hillsdale Creek neighborhood right there off of Hillsdale Ave, I wanted to contact you to make our concerns known. We moved to the neighborhood almost 5 years ago now, and in those 5 years we have lived in constant construc?on as the infrastructure in this area is expanded to meet the growing popula?on. However, even with the expansion, we are burs?ng at the seams over here. With the new CBH neighborhood being built on the east side of Hillsdale Ave and amity, we are already seeing an increase in traffic and Hillsdale Ave is becoming quite a bear, especially during school drop off and pick ups, and morning and evening commute ?mes. Since Hillsdale Ave was probably built originally as more of a simple neighborhood entrance, it is already beginning to feel claustrophobic as it now has mul?ple spots where vehicles are turning from and onto Hillsdale (the St.Lukes center, YMCA, the new CHB neighborhood and the school) and all in a short amount of distance. The area just feels quite clustered already and I am not someone to complain but when I heard the proposal to rezone 5 acres to residen?al that had been zoned for residen?al/commercial for a total of 9 acres of 71 townhomes, I felt it important to contact you regarding my concerns. In my humble opinion, this area cannot handle this many new homes/families, and vehicles…and this proposal is neither reasonable nor in the best interest of the current residents of century farm, Hillsdale Creek, Orchard Creek, etc. Thank you so much for reading this email and for your a?en?on to this ma?er.
