Greetings City of Meridian Council Members, Representatives, and Employees: As a resident of Century Farm subdivision who did not support the CBH development (Challenger Development) that was approved across from the YMCA. Likewise, I do not support more housing as proposed by Brighton.  Insert frog in a pot of boiling water – regarding tra?ic. I fear we’ll end up with severe tra?ic gridlock due to approval of incremental housing and a lack of su?icient impact fees. I question the incremental tra?ic studies that by themselves show nothing of concern. It is coming and we all know it! No one wants an “I told you so” moment.  I distinctly remember CBH’s hired engineer saying that “they did not want to compete with Brighton” when pressed about more commercial development for the CBH Challenger development, yet here we are with more homes being proposed by Brighton. I am not the only local resident who remembers this. It is interesting how life plays out. Consider, if, when approving the CBH development, that you took into consideration Brighton’s plans for commercial. Would you have approved CBH’s proposal if you knew Brighton would come back for more residential?  The City already approved residential in 2019.  I would encourage the City and its leadership to consider what lessons have been learned from the last 10 years of growth and how they are being applied to current developments and proposals? Are we still status quo?  Walk door to door through Century Farm and surrounding subdivisions and you’ll find the common denominator. More commercial. We appreciate your service and consideration of our feedback. Matt Thiel 1
