Subject:Rezoning in south Meridian- Century Farm Townhomes

Dear Members of the Planning and Zoning Commission,
As a resident of south Meridian, I am writing to formally express my concerns regarding the proposed
Brighton townhome development currently under review. While I understand the value of growth within
our community, I respectfully urge the Commission not to approve this project in its current form.
Our schools are already experiencing significant overcrowding, and adding a large number of new
residences will only strain the existing educational infrastructure further. Additionally, the traffic in this
area has become increasingly congested, and a dense townhome community would exacerbate these
conditions, impacting daily commutes and overall safety. There is also currently a townhome
development under construction across from the proposed zone that is adding to the above issues.
Before additional housing is approved, our community would greatly benefit from more essential
commercial amenities—such as restaurants, gas stations, and grocery options—which are currently
limited. Expanding these resources would provide necessary support for both current and future
residents and create a more balanced, sustainable growth plan.
For these reasons, I respectfully ask the Commission to reconsider or postpone approval until
infrastructure and essential services are able to adequately support further residential expansion.
Thank you for your time and thoughtful consideration.
