Hello, As a current Century Farm resident, I am speaking up in opposition of allowing the space at Amity and Hillsdale to be reclassified as residential rather than commercial. Mountain View High School currently well over capacity and Hillsdale Elementary has a multi year waiting list. At MVHS, the school has had to extended to multiple portables and utilize traveling teachers that have to run around from room to room, borrowing space from other teachers. It’s cruel to increase the student population. On top of the concern for the impact on the schools, which are already stressed to the point of breaking, the traffic situation in this part of town is all also quite poor; not reminiscent of how the Treasure Valley needs to be. Regardless of the time of day when needs to head downtown, the ever increasing load on our roadways here in this part of town are not equipped. Projects to widen the road and increase flow, taking an exorbitant amount of time end of thrown burdening into the neighborhoods. This area is very underserved by commercial opportunities and so to re-classify this space would be a huge disservice. The businesses that we do have are incredibly repetitive and so in opportunity for new things to come in, would be more than welcome. I understand that it’s been for sale for a little while, but closing that door would be quite a loss for the people in my area and the benefit only for that developers who will make their money and leave behind the wreckage of traffic and and overstressed school system. Thank you for your consideration. Chris N 1
