Dear Ms. Strader, My wife and I both moved here to the Woodbridge neighborhood a little over a year ago after retiring from out of state. I am a retired deputy sheriff and consulting CFO and my wife is a retired elementary school teacher. After we had moved here, we were very surprised to experience the amount of traffic going through our neighborhood, especially during morning and afternoon commute hours. We quickly learned our neighborhood is used as a cut through for hundreds if not thousands of cars daily between Eagle Road and Locust Grove. When I returned from a trip this past weekend, the Uber driver expressed to me that cut through is well known and used by himself and many other drivers. We had expected to live in a nice, quiet neighborhood in our retirement, but the amount and speed of vehicles through our streets has greatly hindered our quiet enjoyment. There are many children and neighbors who walk or ride bikes along the streets. This traffic from non- neighbors, who typically drive far faster than the posted 25mph speed limit, poses a real threat to our safety. On several occasions I have had to quickly jump to the curb when walking my dog across the street to avoid being hit by an outside truck and car speeding around a corner. This amount of traffic also makes it difficult for many of us to leave or enter our own driveways during rush hours. It has now greatly concerned me that there is an additional planned large development, Latitude Forty Three, right outside our neighborhood, especially considering the traffic impact from the college expansion nearby. 1 We respectfully ask that the City Council ensure that there is a proper and formal traffic mitigation plan from ACHD to account for these developments, and measures taken to ensure that our Woodbridge neighborhood does not take on any additional high traffic burden. Respectfully submitted, Byrren and Tiffany Yates 2056 E Bowstring Street Meridian, ID 83642 916-801-5081 2
