Dear Members of the Meridian City Council & Meridian City Mayor, Please reference my email of 3/31/25. I have lived in Woodbridge since building my house at 582 S Woodhaven Ave in 2004, which will directly back up to the proposed Latitude 43 subdivision. I have attended many city P&Z & council meetings regarding proposed developments directly to the east of us - some I supported but most I did not since our unique situation with uncontained traffic issues has been the biggest concern & how the proposed development would impact this area. As I stated in my earlier email, I appreciate the quality of homes that Ryan Styger of Pacific Lifestyle Homes builds & the care he takes for putting in adequate drainage & larger back yards, which would allow a better transition between Woodhaven houses & theirs. (The enjoyment of our homes along Woodhaven would be significantly impacted by a wall of 2 story homes 12 feet from our fence line, which could happen by code). I have gone through Pacific Lifestyle Homes in 3 of their different developments & remain impressed with the quality. His homes have unique & well thought out design elements which reflect the pride taken to build quality homes. I believe Pacific Lifestyle Homes would only add to our homes' value if the issue of traffic could be dealt with. The larger issue at stake is that it is premature to consider this development at this time for the reasons below. At the previous city council meeting, we heard from the mayor that the city is finally in the process of taking steps to seriously look at our overwhelming problems with traffic congestion which impacts our neighborhood & safety, & which is only going to worsen & become totally unmanageable with the current building projects proposed for east & west of Woodbridge. My understanding is that a transportation engineer was hired & a study is underway to demine another possible east/west road other than through our neighborhood. This study is expected to conclude in around January 2026. We have heard no updates about what Latitude 43 is contemplating or what changes will be made. That does not allow Woodbridge enough information to respond to our concerns. We do not even know who the builder will ultimately be or what type of homes will be proposed. There is nothing new on the website and no additional information from the developer. That in addition to the study that is currently underway, it only makes sense to continue Latitude 43 to January or when the transportation study is complete. Thank you for your consideration, Celeste Fox 1
