Hi Christi,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your thoughts about the proposed Boise Co-op project. Your
email has been received by the Mayor’s O?ice. Because this project is part of an open application, the
Mayor and City Council members are prohibited from commenting outside of the public hearing process.
That said, we take public feedback seriously and want you to know that we have received your email and
have read your comments.
Your email has been forwarded to our City Clerk and will be included in the project public record. As you
may be aware, the City does not determine which business locates at a property; the City regulates the
land use of various properties while businesses decide to locate at given sites or areas based on market
st
conditions. This project’s City Council public hearing is currently scheduled for Tuesday, October 21. I
have copied the Planning Department if you have additional questions on hearings, or should that date
change. Additionally, we invite you to check the City’s website, meridiancity.org, for any upcoming public
hearing notices and additional information regarding the development.
Sincerely,

Subject: Planned grocery store corner Chinden and Black Cat
1
Message: To Council members, As a resident of Fairbourne sub, I am deeply concerned about plans to
build a Boise Co-op grocery store on the highly congested corner of Black Cat and Chinden. The
infrastructure is completely inadequate for what would be a large increase of traffic. Already this corner
is a horrible accident waiting to happen. With speeds of 55+ on Chinden, when, not if, those accidents
happen, they will not be fender benders. Come and look. Come and park and watch how dangerous it is
for North bound drivers on Chinden to turn right onto Black Cat without any cut out on Chinden. Come
and watch as drivers waiting for a left turn onto Chinden sit on narrow Black Cat hoping they will not be
struck by cars trying to make that tight turn onto Black Cat from Chinden with traffic speeds around 60
mph. Moreover we have traffic from Rock Harbor Church, and it's all week not just Sundays. Come and
look at the line of cars. Please come and watch. This is the wrong place for a grocery store. Period.
Thanks for your attention.
