Your email has been received by the Mayor’s Office. Because this project is part of an open application, the Mayor and City Council members are prohibited from commenting outside of the public hearing process. That said, we take public feedback seriously and want you to know that we have received your email and have read your comments. Your email has been forwarded to our City Clerk and will be included in the project public record. As you may be aware, the City does not determine which food service or business locates at a property; the City regulates the land use of various properties while businesses decide to locate at given sites or areas based on market conditions. This project’s City Council public hearing is currently scheduled for Sept 9. Additionally, we invite you to check the City’s website, meridiancity.org, for any upcoming public hearing notices and additional information regarding the development. I have also copied the Planning Department if you have additional questions on hearings, or should that date change. We are opposed to the proposed location of In-N-Out Burger at the corner of Ten Mile and Lost Rapids. This location is in a residential area, and the corner is already a very busy intersection. Additional traffic from an In-N-Out franchise would cause many pedestrian safety issues and backed up traffic issues. There are many other Meridian locations available that would be much better suited for In-N-Out. This location already has many fast-food restaurants. The proposed lot for In-N-Out is very small for the expected number of vehicles normally associated with this restaurant. The lot is also on a corner which will pose major challenges to vehicle access and put additional strain on traffic on both Ten Mile Road and Lost Rapids. Ten Mile Road is already very busy during all hours of the day.and the Costco complex is excessively busy as well. We are especially concerned about the safety of pedestrians. This intersection has parks nearby that host many kids’ sports activities during the week and on weekends. Local residents also use these parks. This dynamic was not addressed in the traffic study that was done for this project during December 2024. Meridian community members that use these parks should be able to do so safely without excess traffic hazards. We live in this area and are opposed to this project. We urge the Meridian City Council to vote NO on this project for the safety of our residents and all of those traveling on Ten Mile Road and through our neighborhood.
