To the attention of Meridian City Council:
As cottage residents for five years at Touchmark in Meridian, I would like to express our
concerns regarding possible future development plans.
We purchased at Touchmark because of the beautiful open green spaces, recreation
facilities and peaceful surroundings. We are extremely concerned and upset to hear that
those amenities may be eliminated! Should part of the golf course be used for “villas” or
“active recreation” it would definitely change the entire peaceful community! And, eliminate
the game of golf, which is why many residents moved to Touchmark!
Another "definite concern" would be the overcrowding of the campus and its facilities. With
our current population, we do not have enough parking for lodge dining or functions. We also
find ourselves waiting at the dining room entrance for a table in order to have a meal!
More people w e do not need! We do not need the age 55 eliminated, as rumored! We do
not need development destroying the peaceful life that we pay dearly to enjoy!
Touchmark has many acres located here in Meridian. If it is necessary for more
development, it should be done in a manner as to not ruin what is currently treasured by the
residents, the amenities that we are paying for and a peaceful
existence.
