To whom it may concern, With so many other sensible choices in Meridian for In-N-Out to open their new store, it seems utterly foolish for them to want to locate at Ten Mile and W. Lost Rapids Drive. Ten Mile and I84 provide a plethora of opportunities to build in a location geared for heavier traffic. I live in Bainbridge and we have endured continual development in and around our subdivision. Most of the development has been done in a fairly decent manner although still resulting in increased traffic. There are red light runners who are too impatient to stop and wait for the next light change causing dangerous driving conditions because of the horrendous amount of traffic already in this neighborhood. We have neighborhood parks, three school bus stops and a good amount of foot and bike traffic on or near W. Lost Rapids Drive. More traffic flow, especially made up of people who are fired up to go to In-N- Out is dangerous and will likely create difficult driving, walking and bike riding conditions. The Costco parking lot is a logjam of cars and trucks and people everyday. We do not need additional gridlock in this area. Please thoughtfully consider if this was your neighborhood how you likely would feel about allowing a congestion making business to build in your area. Your email has been received by the Mayor’s Office. Because this project is part of an open application, the Mayor and City Council members are prohibited from commenting outside of the public hearing process. That said, we take public feedback seriously and want you to know that we have received your email and have read your comments. Your email has been forwarded to our City Clerk and will be included in the project public record. As you may be aware, the City does not determine which food service or business locates at a property, the City regulates the land use of various properties while businesses decide to locate at given sites or areas based on market conditions. This project’s City Council public hearing is currently scheduled for Sept 9. Additionally, we invite you to check the City’s website, meridiancity.org for any upcoming public hearing notices and additional information regarding the development. I have also copied the Planning Department if you have additional questions on hearings, or should that date change. Sincerely, Dave Miles | Chief of Staff City of Meridian | Mayor’s Office 33 E.
