477 E SPLENDOR LANE
MERIDIAN, IDAHO 83642
TO: Meridian Mayor and Council
REGARDING: H-2025, Touchmark MDA PUD RZ
COUNCIL MEETING DATE: 2 September 2025
PURPOSE OF THIS MESSAGE: To ask the Mayor and Council to Return This Matter to the
Planning and Zoning Commission for Further Consideration. Without your intervention there is
a high probability of a decrease the quality of life for many of the 500 residents living in the
Meadow Lake Village 55 Plus retirement community,
THE RESIDENTS DID NOT ATTEND THE P AND Z HEARING. There were no Meadow Lake
residents at the Planning and Zoning hearing. Touchmark gave the residents a briefing about
the protection sometime before the Planning and Zoning meeting. Residents left the briefing
feeling that nothing in the Planning and Zoning hearing would be worth their time to attend
because the content would not be significant for them.
PLANNING AND ZONING DID NOT HEAR RESIDENTS’ CONCERNS. At the hearing, a member of
Planning and Zoning commented that there were no residents attending. And then asked what
the residents’ feelings were about the plan. They were told something like this Oh, they are
happy about it. They feel that the opportunity to associate with younger people will be good
for them. (The exact words can be found in the Proceedings and seen on a the YouTube video)
MEADOW LAKE VILLAGE RESIDENTS REQUEST. Please return the matter back to Planning and
Zoning so Meadow Lake Village residents’ concerns can be properly addressed.
