SV335 Meridian, ID 83642 Charlene Way City Clerk's Office 33 East Broadway Meridian, ID 83642 Attention: Mayor and City Council SUBJECT: Land Group application H-205-0012 H-MDA, PUD, RZ RECEIVE AUG z 7 2025 CITY OF C%f,,snrr, (CLERKS OFFICE The purpose of this letter is to strenuously object to the planned development and rezoning of the property located on the south side of E. Franklin Rd .and the north side of l-84, midway between S. Eagle Rd. and S. Cloverdale Rd. commonly referred to as Touchmark at Meadowlake Village. My wife and I are residents of Meadowlake Village and we have been notified that the corporate owners of Touchmark have applied for city council approval to extensively add residential and commercial facilities that will have a major bearing on our safety, quality of life, food services and traffic management (to name but a few). The proposed development plan will add additional housing adding structures and removing scenic walking trails. The plan also calls for building heights that exceed current code and invite new residents that exceed our current 55-plus residency requirements. A scenic and bucolic neighborhood will quickly turn in to a crowded urban jungle. Add the impact of streets lined with rambunctious kids and unsupervised teenage drivers and you have created absolute chaos. Those who do not enjoy the tranquility of Meadowlark will read this letter and say, "Too bad. If you don't like the area....move out." That shortsighted community planning will lead to a once premier senior living community to fall into disrepair, home values and tax revenues will tumble, and your replacements will ask, "How did we let this falter?" The answer is easy. Say "NO" to the planned modification to this pristine neighborhood and remind the owners of Touchmark that the original owner was looking for a place for his mother to grow old, not a place to go harvest a few bucks. Sincerely, 9 oc)' Y Robert and Donna Mead
