Subject: Touchmark’s application H-2025-0012
My wife Mary Jo and I are residents in Touchmark Meadow Lake Village. As you review the
application from Touchmark to modify the agreements with the City of Meridian to update the
conceptual development plan for the overall site (121.5 acres) and rezone the 63.24 acres of
land and modify the existing planned unit development (PHUD) of Touchmark Meadow Lake
Village, we request that you consider our comments listed below.
The residents that live in Touchmark Meadow Lake Village strongly disagree with several items
presented to the Meridian Planning Commission on July 17, 2025, including but not limited to:
1. Replacement of the golf course with 20 to 24 villas
2. Opening the current Touchmark Meadow Lake Village green space (including pickle ball
courts, dog park, lake, walking paths, etc) to residents in the planned development area
250+ “town houses”.
3. Addition of the town houses with a 35 foot height adjacent to the Touchmark Meadow
Lake Village cottages on Putter Lane.
4. Change from the 55+ age restriction to all ages for the town homes.
In our opinion, the presentation by Touchmark to the Meridian Planning Commission mislead
the commission related to comments that the residents of Touchmark Meadow Lake Village
had not expressed concerns or disagreements with the proposed revisions. Two of the
Meridian Planning Commission personnel expressed opinions that since no residents were
present at the July 17, 2025 meeting, they must be in agreement with the proposed revisions.
The Touchmark staff representative (Ryan) at the meeting indicated that he was present at a
“town hall meeting” where the revisions were presented to the residents. What was presented
at this meeting was basically this was requested by the City of Meridian and contained no
significant changes to the current plan.
After watching the YouTube video of the Meridian Planning Commission meeting, we
requested that the Touchmark presentation to the planning commission be presented to the
residents. This has not been done. The detailed plan presented to the commission by
Touchmark representative Tamara Thompson, Principal Director of Client Services for the Land
Group Inc., has not had any part of this presentation presented to the residents.
Touchmark’s application H-2025-0012 should be sent back to the Meridian Planning
Commission for review based on the comments from the residents of Touchmark Meadow
Lake Village when they became aware of the revisions that Touchmark presented to the
planning commission on July 17, 2025.
