I am writing to respectfully express my strong opposition to the proposed development of an In-N-Out Burger restaurant near my residence in Meridian. While I understand that Meridian is experiencing rapid growth and economic development, I believe that placing a high-traffic fast-food establishment in this particular location would significantly disrupt the character, safety, and livability of our neighborhood. My concerns include the following: 1. Increased Traffic Congestion: In-N-Out locations are known to generate extremely high volumes of drive-through and dine-in traffic. This would likely overwhelm nearby roads, intersections, and neighborhoods, creating serious safety concerns for residents, especially children and pedestrians. 2. Noise and Light Pollution: Late-night drive-through service and increased vehicle idling would result in excessive noise and artificial lighting during evening and overnight hours, degrading the quiet, residential atmosphere of our community. 3. Negative Impact on Property Values: The proximity of a busy fast-food operation has the potential to diminish surrounding property values, particularly for those of us whose homes are closest to the proposed site. 4. Environmental and Litter Concerns: Increased take-out traffic often leads to a rise in roadside litter, odors, and strain on local waste infrastructure. This is inconsistent with the clean, family- friendly environment we strive to maintain. 5. Zoning and Planning Intentions: I respectfully urge the Commission to consider whether this proposed development aligns with the City of Meridian’s long-term comprehensive plan and vision for sustainable, balanced neighborhood growth. I am not opposed to thoughtful development or commercial investment. However, I believe this specific project, in this specific location, is not in the best interest of nearby residents or the broader community. I urge the Commission to deny this application or request significant modifications to address these concerns. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. Sincerely, Lisa Lindley 1
