Hello Meridian City Council,
I reside in Cadence at Bainbridge off Lost Rapids & I am hoping you will vote NO on the proposed In & Out
Burger location at the corner of Lost Rapids & Ten Mile. The fact that the company, who claims to be all
about supporting community, is attempting to build in this location, which would 100% negatively impact
the adjacent communities proves their lack of compassion & understanding.
This would cause MAJOR traffic, worse than it is now, & safety issues that will be devastating for the
community. The traffic we currently deal with on a daily basis just from Costco is simply awful. Adding
an establishment like this one, which is proven to bring an amount of additional traffic that is obscene
and evident at their other locations, which BTW none are adjacent to residential properties, would truly
be a nightmare beyond belief and again a real safety issue.
ACHD’s own study from 2017 did not envision this level of drive thru density and the possibility of In-N-
Out—they had NO Idaho expansion plans in 2017, much less into residential areas.
Also, In-N-Out deciding to modify their closing time to close at midnight and prevent overnight deliveries:
While this prevents overnight noise and light pollution into the adjacent residential areas after midnight,
it makes no difference to the biggest issue: over an additional million visitors to that corner each year.
This may also cause a snowball effect where Costco & the other establishments may decide they want to
expand their delivery hours, which this community fought against previously.
Also, In&Out 's "traffic study" they conducted is a complete joke! The timing of that study was during a
timeframe that didn't display the true traffic issue we have here now.
I truly hope that you take into consideration the number of lives that will be negatively affected if this
establishment is permitted to build at this location. There are PLENTY of other areas much more suitable
for them to build which will not impact a residential area.
Thank you for your time & consideration.
Kind regards,
Lisa Monasterski
