My wife and I continue to oppose the proposed In and Out Location at Chinden and Ten Mile. We have nothing against In and Out but feel that the proposed location is very poorly suited for yet another drive- through business in the Costco shopping center. There are many sites in the Meridian area that are better suited for their purpose. There are currently 10 drive-through business in the development. The current development area can barely accommodate the current traffic flow and coupled with the traffic to and from the proposed site makes for a very unsafe and congested situation. The information provided by In and Out on "customer flow" compares the neighborhood to 10 California based locations, none of which are in either semi-residential or residential areas. It is also my understanding that the traffic study financed by In and Out was done on 3 days in early December. There have been numerous accidents at the north entrance to the intersection. At minimum it should include the Chinden and Lost Rapids traffic, the impact of the proposed Adero subdivision on ten Mile and the impact on the nearby playground. It should also cover a more realistic time frame than 3 Winter days. ACHD’s own study from 2017 did not envision this level of drive thru density and the possibility of In-N-Out—they had NO Idaho expansion plans in 2017, much less into residential areas. Prior to the Planning & Zoning hearing, our Bainbridge community survey revealed 80% of our respondents were OPPOSED to that location. During the Planning & Zoning process, about 96% of the hundreds of public comments from the 6 surrounding neighborhoods were OPPOSED to that location. Please vote "no" on the Appeal.
