Good morning Sandy,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your thoughts about the proposed project. Your email has been received by
our office. As you may be aware, the City does not determine which food service or business locates at a property,
the City regulates the land use of various properties while businesses decide to locate at given sites or areas
based on market conditions.
Because this project is part of an open application, the Mayor and City Council members are prohibited from
commenting outside of the public hearing. We take public feedback seriously and want you to know that we have
received your email and have read your comments.
Your email has been forwarded to our City Clerk and will be included in the public record. We invite you to check
the City’s website, meridiancity.org for any upcoming public hearing notices and additional information regarding
the development.
Thank you,

Sir or Madam,
I live in Bainbridge Subdivision and I beg you not to approve the appeal for the In-N-Out location at 10
Mile and Lost Rapids.

We have too much traffic from the Costco development as it is so it would be a terrible idea to add In-N-
Out to the mix. In-N-Out would bring substantially more traffic and noise and late night activity. Also, I’m
not a fan of Burger King, but they are already established in the Costco Development…first come, first
served, right? Our residential neighborhood doesn’t need 2 hamburger restaurants within 500’ of each
other! We already have a lot of traffic speeding around Tree Farm, or through the neighborhood from
Black Cat to avoid Chinden traffic lights or to get to the Costco area. We have children on bikes, and
playing in the neighborhood. Also, dog walkers, Seniors, school bus stops and nearby city parks to
consider. Add to that, we now have kids on motorized bikes and scooters speeding around, on and off
the sidewalks, riding with and against traffic with no awareness of the rules of the road. Add an In-N-
Out?
No…just no!
Approving an In-N-Out will significantly decrease the safety of our neighborhood.
In-N-Out DOES NOT NEED to be in that particular spot! There is a space on McMillan and 10 Mile where
there is little neighborhood activity on the access road because the houses face away and all are fenced
along it with no openings or access to yards and children. It is less than a mile away. Just down from that
is another lot at Ustick and 10 Mile. Again, houses facing away, access from 10 mile and also Ustick. Or,
how about nearer to Highway 16 on Chinden where there are on and off ramps? It would not be in a
residential neighborhood and while it would still serve the people of Meridian, it would better serve the
people in Eagle, Star, Middleton and Emmett. Oh, yeah…there are a bunch of better places where it
doesn’t directly impact a residential area!
Ask yourself, does In-N-Out belong in a residential neighborhood? NO! Would you want it next to your
house? NO! Do you want your kids and grandkids having to navigate that kind of traffic just to play in your
neighborhood? No! Doesn’t the Burger King that is already established there deserve a chance to
survive? YES!
Is there a reason why we NEED an In-N-Out in this location? NO!
Please, please, please vote NO!
Sandy
