Clean-up Week Starts April 17
Meridian will hold its annual Spring Clean-up Week beginning Saturday, April 17.
All burnable trash will be collected free of charge—providing that it is put
out for collection not later than Sunday, April 25. Any material put out after that
date will be subject to regular collection rates.
So won't you please join your friends and neighbors in improving the appearance
of our town? Do your part the week beginning April 17, and:
1) Clean up aII weeds on your property.
2) Remove all trash, o'd lumber, and other debris that could create a hazard to
health or safety, or that detracts from .the appearance of our town and your
property.
3) Paint where needed.
1 4) Have all damaged sidewalks repaired for safety.
5) Help in all possible ways to make +Meridian a nicer place to live.

ORDINANCE NO. 1
AN ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION OF MONEY FOR ALL THE NECESSARY EXPENSES AND
LIABILITIES OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO,. FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
COMMENCING THE FIRST DAY OF JANUARY, 1965, AND ENDING THE THIRTY-FIRST DAY OF
DECEMBER, 1965, THIS ORDINANCE BEING KNOWN AS THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION BILL,
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN,
ADA COUNTY, IDAHO: -
SECTION 1L That the following sums of money, or so much thereof as may
be necessary, are hereby appropriated out of any money in the City Treasury
of the City of Meridian, Ada County, Idaho, not otherwise appropriated, for
the purpose of defraying any and all necessary expenses and liabilities for the
said City of Meridian to be incurred for general municipal purposes for the
fiscal year commencing the 1st day of January, 1965, and ending the 31st day
of December, 1963, said purposes being as follows, to-wit:

SECTION 2-. THE AMOUNT OF MONEY DERIVED FROM FUNDS OR SOURCES CREATED BY
law for the specified purposes in this Ordinance provided is hereby appropri-
ated for such purposes and no other.
SECTION 3:: The City Clerk of the City of Meridian is hereby authorized
upon presentation of proper vouchers approved by the Mayor and City Council
of the said City of Meridian, as provided by law, to draw his warrant on the
funds above stated and against the appropriations as made in the preceding
sections of this Ordinance, in favor of the parties entitled thereto.
SECTION 4: That this Ordinance be, and the same is hereby designated as
"THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION BILL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO,
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR OF 1965."
SECTION 5:- WHEREAS, there is an emergency therefor, which emergency is
declared to exist, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage, approval and publication as required by law.
Passed by the City Council and approved by the Mayor of the City of
Meridian, Ada County, Idaho, this 1st day of March, 1965.

CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO, FOR THL FISCAL YEAR
BEGINNING THE FIRST DAY OF JANUARY, 1965, AND ENDING THE THIRTY-FIRST DAY OF
DECEMBER, 19(5, OF TWENTY MILLS ON THE DOLLAR FOR GENERAL MUNICIPAL PURPOSES,
OF FIVE MILKS ON THE DOLLAR FOR THE PURPOSE OF OILING AND MAINTAINING STREETS,
OF TWO MILLS ON THE DOLLAR FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAINTAINING A MUNICIPAL FIRE DE-
PARTMENT, OF ONE MILL ON THE DOLLAR FOR THEPURPOSE OF SUPPORTING A FREE PUBLIC
LIBRARY, FOR TWO MILLS ON THE DOLLAR FOR THE PUPPOSE OF PREOVIDING RECREATIONAL
PROGRAMS, ALL WITHIN THE SAID CITY OF MERIDIAN; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO FILE
A CERTIFIED COPY OF THIS ORDINANCE WITH THE COUNTY TAX COLLECTOR AND THE COUNTY
AUDITOR OF ADA COUNTY, IDAHO; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA
COUNTY, IDAHO: -
SECTION 1. That there be, and there is hereby levied upon all the taxable
property within the corporate limits of the City of Meridian, Ada County, Idaho,
which is taxable by law for State, County, and Municipal purposes, the following
annual taxes for the purpose of raising revenue to defray the necessary expenses
and liabilities to be incurred in the City of Meridian, Ada County, Idaho, for
the fiscal year commencing on January 1, 1965 and ending December 31, 1965, for
the following purposes, tol-wits
1. An annual tax of Twenty Mills on the Dollar for general municipal
purposes of the said City of Meridian.
2. An annual tax of live Mills on the Dollar for the purpose of oiling
and maintaining streets.
3. Ain annual tax of Two Mills on the Dollar for the purpose of maintain-
ing a Municipal Fire Department.
4. An annual tax of One Mill on the Dollar for the purpose of maintain-
ing a Free Public Library.
5. An annual tax of Two Mills on the Dollar for the purpose of providing
for and regulating recreational programs.
SECTION 2. That a certified copy of this Ordinance shall be by the City
Clerk of the said City of Meridian, certified to the County Tax Collector and
to the County Auditor of Ada County, Idaho.
SECTION 3. WHEREAS, There is an emergency therefor, which emergency is
hereby declared to exist, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as required by lair.
Passed by the City Cbuncil and approved by the Mayor of the City of
Meridian, Ada County, Idaho, this 1st day of March, 1965.
