Kyle,
The intent is for the prosecution team to be located near the courthouse, due to how the
court system functions. While the team’s cost does increase over today’s contracted costs
by about $500K, the benefits are that the city will be prosecuting all cases that are enforced
in Meridian, some of which are not prosecuted today, and an internal team will have a more
direct relationship with Meridian PD for better training opportunities and consistency. Cities
do not prosecute felonies (today or with proposed team) so there is no change to the
jail/prison facility impacts.

External Sender - Please use caution with links or attachments.
For the addition of the levy related to prosecution. Is there current space at the city for the
proposed in-house prosecution?
What is the cost benefit analysis of taking that service in-house versus having the continued
contract with the city of Boise? Will the city be paying more versus continuing the contract?
If there is in-house prosecution, is the idea to have an increase in cases prosecuted? If there
are more cases prosecuted, what is the capacity of the jail or prison facilities? Would there
be an increased capacity to handle potential increases in prosecutions?
Thanks
