Christopher,
Thank you for reaching out and asking your questions about prosecution services and funding of various services
identified. The current levy breakdown for costs is roughly $2.34M for firefighter expenses, $2.17M for police
salaries, and $500K for prosecution services. Council does have the ability to adjust a levy proposal prior to
placing any levy on the ballot.
The prosecution services proposed would bring eight prosecution staff on board. Currently, there are no
prosecution staff on City staff. These services today are contracted with the City of Boise.

Subject: New Levy question
Message: After listening to the new levy proposal, I see that the levy request is for supplemental pay for
police, retaining 13 firefighters after a federal grant expires, but the third ask; the creation of a
prosecution office is very vague. How many prosecutors does the city currently have, and how many
more prosecutors are they looking to add based on this levy? This component of the levy is very vague. Is
this intentional? Can it be removed if there is not a need there? What percentage of the levy will be used
for each of the three requests?
