Tony,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your question. As the Mayor spoke at the State of the City, Meridian has
made strides to better compensate police officers, however those efforts still lag behind competitors, particularly
the City of Boise. The roughly 9 percent gap in take home wages and benefits with Boise is what the levy proposal
reflects to provide a more competitive wage for sworn officers.
