RE: Erratum: Correction to Memorandum for H-2025-0002
Cumulative Impacts
On page 1 of the Memorandum for School Impacts dated March 13, 2025, there was an error in
the number of forecasted school-aged children due filtering of aggregated enterprise data
(total number of units). Additional automation has been created to improve the process. The
correct number of school-aged children is 642 (not 1,156). This number is calculated by looking
at the number of entitled units (836 single-family and 264 multi-family) within the last 5 years
and within a 1-mile radius of the project location. The intent of looking at cumulative impacts
on schools is to forecast the number of school-aged children, enrolled in both public and
private schools, using city-wide American Community Survey census data.

Student Generation Rate
Additionally, for clarification purposes, the calculation of school-aged children remains the
same at approximately 202. However, Student Generation Rates are calculated in reference to
the designated elementary school within the subject property's associated Development Area
Zone, also referred to as a school attendance area, not the elementary school alone. Approval
of the project is estimated to result in 202 school aged children that would be enrolled in all
West Ada school grade levels and not grades K through 5 only.
Staff apologizes for the errors and has proposed changes to the template and process to help
prevent this in the future.
