HomeMy WebLinkAbout25-2520 Policy Standard Operating relating to Bereavement Leave 4.5 CITY OF MERIDIAN RESOLUTION NO. 25-2520 BY THE CITY COUNCIL: CAVENER, LITTLE ROBERTS, OVERTON STRADER, TAYLOR,WHITLOCK A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN TO AMEND CITY OF MERIDIAN STANDARD OPERATING POLICY 4.5, REGARDING BEREAVEMENT LEAVE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS,the City Council has authority over the policies of the City of Meridian; and WHEREAS,the City Council finds it in the best interest of the City of Meridian to update the bereavement leave policy to ensure consistent and equitable application for all employees; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, IDAHO: Section 1. That the City of Meridian Standard Operating Policy no. 4.5, regarding Bereavement Leave, shall be amended as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto. Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage. ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Meridian, Idaho, this 10t'day of June, 2025. Simison, Mayor ATTEST: By: Chris Johnson, City Clerk RESOLUTION AMENDING STANDARD OPERATING POLICY No.4.5-BEREAVEMENT LEAvE PAGE I EXHIBIT A City of Meridian E 1�lAlr Standard Operating Policy Number 4.5 Bereavement Leave Purpose: To establish the City's policy providing paid Bereavement Leave for regular full-time employees. Policy: In the event of a death in the immediate family of an employee, the City allows regular full-time employees an absence from work with pay of up to forty(40) hours. Additional time off may be granted, utilizing the employee's accrued vacation time, consistent with the policies of the City. The employee shall notify his/her supervisor as soon as possible to schedule the use of this leave. This policy shall be implemented pursuant to the Bereavement Leave Standard Operating Procedures. Authority& Responsibility: Immediate supervisor and department director or designee shall be responsible for administration of this policy. Revision Date:5/2025
