Subject: Waverly Subdivision Proposal (Vacation Village Villas, LLC) (tonight's meeting 2/20)
Hello,
After speaking with City Clerk's office I would like to have my letter to be part of the public record
for tonight's discussion concerning Waverly Subdivision proposal. Thank you for considering my
comments.
Dear Council Member
Over a year ago you were asked to approve Conger Management's vision far housing
development which is outside my community subdivision of Woodbridge. What was
communicated from the City Council was the land has a vision for medical usage; `a medical
corridor' I believe was the term. This evening you will again be asked and challenged on that
original vision.
Please note, I am a resident and also a delegate, active member of the Woodbridge Homeowners
Association (HOA). I was unable to attend a rescheduled HOA meeting last week where 6
delegates decided to speak for over 200+ households without seeking to survey all residents to
understand how all of the residents viewed the proposal, sharing the HOA's intent and presenting
fact based data to the City Council. I applaud the work of some residents and open forum with the
developer, but I have an issue with the HOA making such a supporting statement without
proactively requesting input from all residents. I have shared this concern of mine and requested
this survey approach in the past. The HOA decided not to publicly make a statement when
Conger Management's proposal was presented due to questions I may have expressed. To
my disappointment the HOA took this opportunity during my absence to speak for all residents.
Please be assured the HOA may have the authority to speak for all residents, but in my opinion
has not provided this service in a manner, process that included all of Woodbridge residents'
voices.
I would ask the Council to please maintain the original vision for medical usage; `a medical
corridor.' Please communicate a message to developers to understand the intended vision and
support it rather than continue to taunt and hope that the original vision is lost within the politics of
people, emotions and impatience for immediate results.
