Subject: Magic View development
Dear Planners and City Leaders:
I happened to note the signage on Magic View property indicating another hearing regarding still one
more residential development proposal. I am confused as to whether the decision process can be trusted as to
ever being conclusive.
Only a few months ago, Mayor deWeerd and others made eloquent comments followed by votes which
indicated that the zoning status for the Magic View area should be continued as per the Comprehensive Plan.
Does the hearing next Tuesday mean that some developer has been able to influence someone who is able to
render the above comments and vote both moot and without meaning?
I do not suggest malfeasance, but simply affirm that credibility of government is a precious commodity worthy of
carefully avoiding the tarnishing effect of perceived undue influence. This is even more valid considering the
superior rationale for the original Comprehensive plan for the area.
Please don't diminish respect for your service to the public.
