Meridian, lD 83642 (208) 888-1109 Kevin Moyer, Senior Pastor Mark Chapman, Assistant Pastor/Youth May 31, 2002 Dear Sirs, The intent of this letter is to verify my consent for the attached application to the city of Meridian for the rezoning of the property of the Meridian First Baptist Church located at 428 West Pine Avenue, We are requesting that the current residential zoning be changed to LO designation for the church property. Our congregation has been considering thi8 zoning change as a part of our planning activities for some time now. After establishing contact with Meridian's P and Z office, researching the key issues and then acting on thi8 as a self-governing church body, we believe this zoning change will be mutually beneficial to both the City of Meridian and our church organization. As the acting chairrnan of our deacon board as well a8 the designated head corporate officer registered with the State of Idaho, I am asking that the City of Meridian consider the attached rezone application. Meridian, lD 83642 (208) 888-1109 Kevin Moyer, Senior Pastor Mark Chapman, Assistant Pastor/Youth June 3, 2002 To: Planning and Zoning Department City of Meridian Fr: Dean Langley, Chairman MFBC Master Planning Committee Re: Affidavit for the posting of 428 West Pine A venue property Meridian First Baptist Church (MFBC) understands the City of Meridian requirement item #12 of the "Contents of Annexation & Zoning or Rezone Application" list which requires a signed affidavit staling that the property will be posted (per city specifications) one week before the public hearing on the MFBC rezoning applicatioo to the city. As chainnan of the MFBC master planning committee, it will be my responsibility to see that this requirement is met to the satisfilction of the city. I also understand that official notices are available at City Hall or the Planning and Zoning Department In additioo we are obligated to submit a notarized statement to the Zoning administrator after the property has been posted according to the city guidelines. Meridian, lD 83642 (208) 888-1109 Kevin Moyer, Senior Pastor Mark Chapman, Assistant Pastor/Youth June 10, 2002 City of Meridian Planning and Zoning Department RE: Meridian First Baptists Church Rezone Dear Mr. Siddoway and members of zoning board, Meridian First Baptist Church (MFBC) is requesting a Rezone of its current properties and is addressing items numbered 5,6, & 7 in the City of Meridian' s rezone application requiring a written response to those mentioned items. Item monber 5: A statement describing the characteristics qf subject property which make the zoning amendment desirable. MFBC has acquired three properties over the last thirty years. The parcel numbers of the property are R6066000641, R6066000660 and R60660008115. The current fucility is operating under a conditional use permit in a R-4 zone we desire to bring all three parcels into correct zoning for a church facility according to the Meridian City zoning code, and to facilitate future building and improvement needs. Item number 6: A statement outlining the necessity or desirability qf development pertaining to the zoning amendment and its hannony with adj<<<:ent development MFBC has been operating under a conditional use permit as a church facility in a existing R-4 zone for the last thirty years. Because of the increase in Meridian's popula1ion base, MFBC desires at this time to rezone their property to LO (limited office) to more accurately reflect the use of church property for future growth. Meridian City zoning ordinance section 2- 408 #7 and 2-409 schedule of use control permits a church use in the Limited Office zone (LO). MFBC does not intend to change the current use of the property, but rather anticipates expansion of the existing facility and physical plant. Item monber 7: A statement qfhow the proposed zoning amendement relates to the City a/Meridian Comprehensive Plan. Meridian's new comprehensive plan land use map shows the current use as existing urban a non-specific use. MFBC has occupied the current site for thirty years. This rezone is just a process of cleaning up the zoning for the site. We thank you again for your consideration of this Rezone application.
