Dear City of Meridian and Planning & Zoning Committee, My name is Helen Laird of Meridian, ID. I live in Bainbridge Subdivision at 5823 North Levenham Avenue and am an active voter in local elections. Please reject In-And-Out's proposal to build near the Meridian Costco at the corner of Ten Mile and Lost Rapids. The traffic is already busy from all directions. I am over 80 years old and walk everywhere I go. I already have to be extra cautious crossing the streets around Ten Mile and Lost Rapids due to high traffic volume and inattentive drivers having nearly been struck several times each month over the last several years. Plus, we already have a place to get hamburgers there with Burger King along with other fast food options. Our residential area can handle the current traffic patterns, but the influx of people coming to frequent a business that wants to be open past midnight is not a good idea. It will increase the noise, and danger for anyone out at night. Our quiet neighborhood will be dealing with all sorts of traffic and late night semi-trucks making delivery. This isn't what I want in a place to live. They say they've done studies, but when and where? I never saw it. How can they say this location can handle their high traffic pattern when the store over near Eagle Road still backs up all this time after it was built. I don't believe they actually did an honest assessment of the traffic, nor of the desire of the locals for this business. I love living in Meridian, Idaho, the family values, the quiet peacefulness, and the safety for families. Please don't bend the rules of current zoning for a big business that doesn't respect what makes Idaho great. Please help keep us all safe in our residential area. Thank you for your time.
