Meridian City,
My name is Jessica Heslop, I live at 5676 N. Joy Ave, Meridian ID. I don’t want In-N-Out Burger
to build and open a location next to the Meridian Costco in the Bainbridge Neighborhood.
Choosing to move the location even a mile away would still allow their business to have
plenty of costumers. The Bainbridge neighborhood is not equipped and meant for large
crowds and traffic. It is a quiet and family friendly neighborhood with many children who
play outside. It is dangerous to bring in this kind of traffic. It would be a massive problem to
have in-N-Out in this quiet neighborhood, as its hours are very late even past midnight and
will cause noise, lights and traffic in a neighborhood with many children and families. The
customer flow information that In-N-Out has drawn out and provided is flawed. It compares
our neighborhood with a 10 California based location, which none of them are residential or
semi residential areas. When In-N-Out made their traffic study it was only for three days in the
month of December, which does not take into consideration the event traffic that takes
place when sports seasons start and both the Keith Bird Park and Hero Parks bring in. Four
days a week cars line streets right outside keith bird Park and Hero’s park because of all of
the children and families coming to sport practices and events, they cannot even all fit in
the parking lots provided. It seems unwise and poor planning to choose to put an In-N-Out
Burger in such a location. In making their customer flow information, In-N-Out also did not
consider the additional homes that will be built on the empty farm lot on 10 mile near
Walmart. Adding an In-N-Out Burger to this small already busy location would very likely
cause many accidents and it would put people in a lot of danger. In-N-Out has evaluated
and viewed this area to be something it is not. It is not a large retail location or location for a
restaurant that brings in high levels of traffic. It is a neighborhood with many homes and
families. Please consider reevaluating this location as a future home for In-N-Out Burger as
there are many more suitable locations for this restaurant that are not located in a
neighborhood.
Sincerely,
Jessica Heslop
