Dear Planning Commission,
I feel strongly about a proposed construction project that will seriously affect our community.
The infrastructure in Meridian is not even close to being able to handle the new homes and
businesses that are flooding in. That's understandable because the growth has wildly exceeded the
vision of the city planners.
Noise and traffic are becoming significant problems in our Cadence community. Chinden (Highway
20) and Ten Mile Road is a major intersection. As I understand it, the access to the proposed In and
Out building will be from Lost Rapids, which is just around the corner from that intersection. i'm sure
you know that Lost Rapids is not even close to being able to handle that degree of anticipated
additional traffic. Costco and the other businesses that are smaller are not terribly overcrowded and
can handle the existing traffic flow.
Historically, In and Out has massive lines of cars that generate noise and atmospheric pollution. If
they are located in the proposed space, the carbon footprint in the area will be significant. It seems
obvious that this location would become a mess with In and Out being the culprit.
Furthermore, In and Out’s hours of operation are another problem. Some locations are open until
2:00 AM. The noise and lights, and the potential for crime, are beyond mere inconvenience.
Please, PLEASE keep our community safe and sane. Do not permit such an assault on our
neighborhood.
Regards,
Dr. John W. Vitz
