Subject: Opposition to Proposed In-N-Out Near Bainbridge Community
Dear Meridian City Planning Commission/City Council Members:
I am writing to formally express my opposition to the proposed In-N-Out Burger development near
the Bainbridge community.
While I recognize the economic opportunities such developments may bring, the proposed location
raises significant concerns that directly impact the safety, well-being, and quality of life for local
residents.
Key concerns include:
1. Increased Traffic Congestion
In-N-Out locations are known to attract heavy drive-thru and dine-in traffic, especially during peak
hours. The surrounding roads are not equipped to handle this volume without impacting
emergency response times, school traffic, and daily commutes.
2. Noise Pollution
Extended operating hours, drive-thru intercoms, idling cars, and late-night customers will
contribute to elevated noise levels — disrupting the peace of a largely residential neighborhood.
3. Community Safety
Increased vehicle flow and foot traffic can pose safety risks, particularly to children, cyclists, and
pedestrians in the area. Late-night operations also heighten concerns over loitering and security.
The Bainbridge community is a family-oriented, residential neighborhood. A high-traffic fast food
establishment is not compatible with the existing character or infrastructure of the area.
I urge you to reconsider the location of this project and prioritize the voices of residents who live, work,
and raise families here.
Sincerely,
Lisa Cuff
