We are adamantly opposed to the proposed In-N-Out location at 10 Mile and Lost Rapids in Meridian. Listed below are our concerns/issues. CONGESTION This proposed location is grossly inadequate to handle the traffic. The lot size lacks space for parking and the egress and ingress roads are insufficient to handle any overflow of traffic. The current traffic situation is marginal at best with traffic going to and from Costco and additional businesses. Adding an In-N-Out would be disastrous. Lost Rapids is currently used as an access point to Costco, 10 mile and Chinden by bypassing the Chinden/10 Mile intersection. Adding In-N-Out to the mix will increase traffic flow tremendously. This could be a danger to families (children) participating in activities at Keith Bird Park. The main access point to this park is on Lost Rapids. There are no speed bumps or crosswalks near the park entrance which means free-flowing traffic. The congestion that occurred at the onset of Fairview/Eagle Road In--N-Out overwhelmed the area for several months. Even now, over a year later, that location is experiencing long lines and crowds of foot traffic. In-N-Out submitting their own traffic study is absurd. That's like letting the fox tend the hen house. Of course they're going to state that there are no traffic concerns. LATE HOURS This is a residential area. The other locations in the valley are commercial and have no impact on private lives. The late hours will disrupt the neighborhoods with noise, traffic, litter and will impact home values. There are plenty of other locations in the valley that are well suited for a commercial venture of this kind. This location is not. It's a no brainer. They need to find another location.
