Dear Committ Members, I am writing to voice my strong opposition to the In and Out project proposal for Ten Mile. Please consider all the input you have and will receive from the residents that this project affects. Ultimately, we are the ones who have to deal with the fallout of this if approved. There are so many other suitable locations for this restaurant. The residents of Bainbridge deserve to be able to live without the noise and traffic pollution that already exists on W. Lost Rapids Drive. Our fence backs up to that street and the noise and speeding traffic are already bad enough. I constantly hear and see speeding vehicles barreling down that road where kids ride their bikes, where parents walk their children and pets. The speed limit is 25 MPH and I would be willing to bet more than 75% of the traffic is doing well over 40 MPH. Many people use that road as a shortcut to avoid Chinden traffic by speeding behind Costco to get to Ten Mile. This is already a very densely traveled road with the Costco traffic coming out into Lost Rapids. We have witnessed many accidents there and even more close calls. This makes me extremely nervous and concerned as I was involved in an accident myself 2 years ago walking back from a popular fast food restaurant. I was struck by a speeding car that failed to yield to my right of way signal as I crossed the street on foot. I was thrown up and into the windshield head first before being thrown up and over the vehicle landing in the road where I was almost hit again by other traffic. The driver was a 17 year old boy who came speeding out of that restaurant’s parking lot. I can only imagine if that were to happen to an innocent child or other pedestrian that frequently crosses Lost Rapids on bicycle or foot. I still get sweaty palms when I hear speeding traffic approaching behind me when I am out walking. On top of that concern is the fact that In and Out is extremely popular with people and they are open very late. It is unacceptable to have to deal with the noise and traffic next to a residential area at these hours. In and Out makes a lot of money and can afford to select another location that does not affect residents in their community. Please choose common sense and deny this permit. Respectfully, Shawn Johnson Bainbridge Resident Sent from my iPhone 1
