Subject:RE: Request for Mayor and Council
Good morning,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your thoughts and concerns about the proposed project. Your email has
been received by the office, and we will make sure to share it with the Mayor and Council. Because there is an
open application for this project, the Mayor and Council are prohibited from conversations unless on the official
record in the public forum. That terminology and process can be confusing sometimes, so I am happy to chat with
you if you have additional questions and/or get you to appropriate planning staff. I understand that the application
for this project is next heard at the Planning and Zoning Commission on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 6:00pm.
As you may be aware, the City does not determine which food service or business locates at a property, the City
regulates the land use of various properties and businesses decide to locate at given sites or areas based on
market conditions. That said, we take public feedback seriously and want you to know that we have received your
email and have read your comments regarding the traffic concerns.
I appreciate your comments and have copied the City Clerk so that they can add your comments and email to the
public record. I have also copied the City Planning Manager, Bill Parsons, in case you have additional questions
better suited for him, and so this record can also be added to the project file.
Thank you,
Josha Iverson| Executive Assistant

Subject: In-N-Out Burger at Ten Mile and Lost Rapids
1
Message: Dear Councilmembers,
I am writing you to express my absolute opposition to In-N-Out opening a location at Ten Mile and Lost
Rapids.
As you know, Ten Mile is becoming the next Eagle Road in terms of traffic congestion. As it stands right
now, the intersection of Ten Mile and Lost Rapids is extremely busy and congested during rush hour and
prime shopping hours at Costco. If you are traveling northbound on Ten Mile you usually find yourself
stuck in the northbound lane because of the spillover from the left turn lane onto northbound Ten Mile.
If you do turn left onto Lost Rapids from Ten Mile, you then have to contend with the traffic entering and
exiting the Costco shopping center there next to the Olivia apartments. I have witnessed and also almost
been included in many near-miss accidents at that entrance/exit.
Adding an In-N-Out burger there will radically increase the number of vehicles in that area and will
certainly create more chaos and accidents.
My second reason for being against this In-N-Out location is the hours they are open. They are open very
late in the evening to early morning hours. This will make the light and noise pollution, and traffic from
overnight delivery trucks practically unavoidable.
In-N-Out Burger is known for being located off of interstate freeways, like I-84. That is where they need to
focus their next location in Meridian. Not in a neighborhood.
PLEASE, PLEASE do not approve this location.
Thank you,
David Watson
