Your email has been received by the office, and we will make sure to share it with the Mayor and Council. Because there is an open application for this project, the Mayor and Council are prohibited from conversations unless on the official record in the public forum. That terminology and process can be confusing sometimes, so I am happy to chat with you if you have additional questions and/or get you to appropriate planning staff. I understand that the application for this project is next heard at the Planning and Zoning Commission on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 6:00pm. As you may be aware, the City does not determine which food service or business locates at a property, the City regulates the land use of various properties and businesses decide to locate at given sites or areas based on market conditions. That said, we take public feedback seriously and want you to know that we have received your email and have read your comments regarding the traffic concerns. I appreciate your comments and have copied the City Clerk so that they can add your comments and email to the public record. I have also copied the City Planning Manager, Bill Parsons, in case you have additional questions better suited for him, and so this record can also be added to the project file. The amount of traffic already in that part of town is difficult to navigate and by adding In N Out it’ll obviously make it much worse. There are several locations in north Meridian that make a lot more sense. Perhaps off Chinden in the development by Winco that would make a lot of sense for In N Out. Or just south of Lost Rapids in some of that new development around McMillen and Ten Mile. Or how is a location near Scheels not being explored? But that corner lot is an awful spot! That access road off Lost Rapids going to Costco already sees too much traffic as is and the In N Out will make it unusable. The number of cars that will line up on that access roads will make things extremely unsafe. And the number of cars that will drive through Lost Rapids at a high speed to get to In N Out will make a lot of parents in the Bainbridge community uncomfortable. There are so many kids that ride their bikes to the park or walk that way. This proposal makes no sense to me at all especially with all the other great locations on the north side of town that are developed to handle that kind of business. Thank you for taking my opinion in consideration 2
