A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, IDAHO,
SETTING FORTH CERTAIN FINDINGS AND PURPOSES TO DECLARE SURPLUS
PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING THE DONATION OF CERTAIN OFFICE SUPPLIES TO
THE IDAHO YOUTH RANCH.
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Meridian to declare certain office supplies as
attached in Exhibit"A" as surplus, as these particular items are no longer needed or used by the City of
Meridian;
WHEREAS,the City of Meridian's purchasing policy allows surplus City property to be
donated to other agencies exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal
Revenue Code when the value of the property in question is of nominal value, that is, valued at less than
the cost of disposing of the property;
WHEREAS,the City of Meridian desires to donate the office supplies listed in Exhibit"A"to
the Idaho Youth Ranch, which are exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the
Internal Revenue Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MERIDIAN, IDAHO,AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Mayor and City Council hereby authorize and declare certain office
supplies as attached hereto as Exhibit"A" are surplus property.
Section 2. That the Mayor and City Council hereby authorizes the donation of office
supplies listed in Exhibit"A"to the Idaho Youth Ranch.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Meridian, Idaho, this 4t'day of March, 2025.

*The filing cabinets mentioned above do not have asset tags because they were removed from HR's
inventory list earlier this year. This decision was made based on the policy/procedure for inventory
records, which excludes items valued below the $500 threshold.

Auction/Sell We have made every effort to repurpose these surplus items by first offering
DonationLTransfer them to all other departments, but no one expressed a need.Additionally,we
reached out to the West Ada School District,which accepted some items but
Trade In not all.
To ensure the remaining items are put to good use,we plan to donate them to
the Idaho Youth Ranch,which has confirmed they will accept our donation.
