I have to sa~ that I do not speak well in a public setting and theretore did not express plainl~ what I wanted to sa~. I am all tor the proposed subdivision in between Ten Mile and Linder. I do agree with Mel5hoemaker in regards to moving at the interchange to the east though I also know that this is unrealistic and seltish on m~ part. We cannot hold on to the hope that our Illittle peace at heavenll will sta~ intact over all at this. This said I wanted to express some at m~ opinions tor ~our consideration. I understand now that the developer Mr. Jewitt (not sure on the spelling) is not building the school or proposed librar~ but has just Ildonated?1l the propert~ that the~ will sit on. I ma~ have been misintormed on this but this is what I gathered trom later comments in the meeting. While that is ver~ generous at the developer, I teel that impact tees should start to be imposed on new subdivisions to build new schools to accommodate the influx at students in the area. Hence m~ comment on how nice it was that the developer was going to be building a new school and librar~. Don't know how one would go about imposing this but ma~be it should be something that is looked into instead at having all at these bonds (which eventuall~ become due). 50, instead ot having another bond on the public librar~ ma~be it should be suggested that there are other wa~s at raising the tunds tor such an undertaking. Now, on to the traffic and the impact that the new subdivision will have on this. I teel like ma~be we are putting the cart betore the horse here? Shouldn't we be making these decisions after the plans have been decided on tor the new interchange? It the~ go with the 5FUI which in m~ opinion, is the best at all at the plans tor moving 1/17/2007 Page 2 of2 the kind at traffic that will be using this new interchange, wouldn't moving Overland up just create the same situation that we alread~ have on T asa when it comes to the heav~ times ot traffic? It isn't so much the trouble ot getting out at the street but the satet~. It ~ou put the Ilpark and ridell on T asa as I saw in one ot the proposed plans and eliminate the the residential element at the street move the entrance up to the Ilnewll Overland R.oad and put in a tour wa~ stop, it would certainl~ make things sater and help alleviate some at the traffic b~ providing the park and ride area. This would also seem to be a Ilcheaperll alternative to running T asa under Ten Mile and then connecting it somewa~ with Overland f\.oad. In closing I would like to sa~ that m~ husband and m~selt have resigned ourselves to whatever happens, move or sta~ what is, is but I would hate to see another mistake made in the planning at this area. I think we should use the Meridian and Lagle f\.oad interchanges as an example at what NOT to do again. Growth is here wether we want it or not. It is now a part ot our lives, let us plan tor it. Let us make Meridiall an example at how a cit~ plans tor growth instead at an example at tailure in planning tor growth and our children's tutures. Thank ~ou tor ~our time and consideration in this matter, 5uz~ Grubaugh )+75 T asa Drive Meridian, ID 8)6+2 208-+05-1005 1/17/2007
