NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ADDITION OF FLOODPLAIN DEVELOPMENT
PERMIT APPLICATION FEE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to the Ordinances of the City of Meridian
and the Laws of the State of Idaho, that the Meridian City Council of the City of
Meridian will hold a public hearing at the Meridian City Hall, 33 East Idaho
Avenue, Meridian, Idaho, at the hour of 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2007,
for the purpose of reviewing and commenting on the proposed addition of a
$25.00 fee for the floodplain development permit application.
The proposed fee will offset the cost of staff time and materials in processing an
application for a floodplain development permit. Documentation on this subject is
on file at the City Clerk's office at Meridian City Hall, 33 East Idaho Avenue,
Meridian, Idaho and is available for inspection during regular business hours,
Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Interested parties can call
the Meridian Public Works Department at 898-5500 for further information.
Any and all interested persons shall be heard at said public meeting, and the
public is welcome and invited to submit testimony. Oral testimony may be limited
to three (3) minutes per person. Written materials may be submitted seven (7)
days prior to the above hearing date so that all interested parties may examine
them prior to the meeting. Written comments will be accepted into the record
until the hour of the hearing. All materials presented at public meetings shall
become property of the City of Meridian. Anyone desiring accommodations for
disabilities related to documents and/or hearings, please contact the City Clerk's

The Public Works Department respectfully requests the following item be placed on the
January 9 City Council agenda for public hearing:
$25 fee for Floodplain Development Permit Application
The proposed fee will offset the cost of staff time and materials in processing an application
for a floodplain development permit. The Floodplain Development Permit (attached) is
required by City Code and ensures that certain activities in the floodplain such as filling,
grading, building structures, or storing materials is regulated according to City Code and
FEMA Regulations.
